The SDKs
Apple has announced the hardware, not the tools. Until the iPhone Duo SDK ships, nobody outside Apple has written a line against the real APIs, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing.
The simulator
Xcode needs an iPhone Duo device profile before any of this can be tested honestly. The moment one appears we run our apps against both the cover screen and the unfolded layout.

When can I pre-order the iPhone Duo?
Pre-orders open on 16 October 2026 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific, which is 14:00 in central Europe. The phone ships on 23 October.
How much does the iPhone Duo cost?
$1,999 for 256 GB, $2,199 for 512 GB, $2,599 for 1 TB and $3,199 for 2 TB. Carrier trade-in promotions can bring the effective price under $1,000 — see the Deals section above.
Where can I buy the iPhone Duo?
Directly from Apple, and from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, from 23 October. Our Deals table ranks the offers by real out-of-pocket cost and updates daily.
Does the iPhone Duo have Face ID?
No. Apple has confirmed Touch ID built into the side button, which works whether the phone is open or closed. There is no Face ID on this model.
How big is the iPhone Duo, and how much does it weigh?
It weighs 254 g and measures 117.8 by 84.1 by 11.3 mm folded. Opened, it is 5.2 mm thick — the thinnest iPhone Apple has made.
Is the folding screen durable?
The frame is Grade 5 titanium, the front and back are Ceramic Shield 2, and the body is rated IP68 to 6 metres for 30 minutes. The inner display is still softer than glass, so a case and a screen film are worth it.
What chip and battery does it have?
The A20 Pro, with a 6-core CPU, a 7-core GPU and two 16-core Neural Engines. Apple quotes up to 44 hours of video on the cover screen and 31 hours on the inner one, with 50% charge in about 20 minutes.
Will my iPhone 17 case or accessories fit?
